I spend a lot of my time cosplaying or planning out my costumes. I tend to use a mix of buying tailored costumes, DIY-ing and in rare cases making them from scratch. I can only sew by hand, but I'm pretty good at making props & styling wigs. For more extravagant costumes such as ball gowns, frilly dresses & cheongsam I normally commission them from a cosplay tailor, but for more casual outfits I DIY them using items bought from Walmart, thrift stores, craft stores, etc.
